We’ve managed to get Frank on a bit of a schedule. He sleeps for nice two hour stretches. It’s not a ton, but it helps. It’s certainly better than one hour bursts.
Today was a pretty uneventful day. We didn’t have any errands or visitors, so we took it easy. It was nice, [...]
Frank’s been with us for a week now. It’s his second Tuesday ever. It’s been a wonderful and challenging experience. I can’t believe how fast the time goes. It’s amazing, because he sleeps so infrequently and requires so much maintenance, that the days fly by, and yet you feel like you got nothing done. It’s [...]
Day 7: My Mom gets her revenge; excellent visitors
0 Comments Published May 29th, 2006 in UncategorizedApparently, when I was 3 years old, I had to go to the bathroom while my mom, my one year old brother Tony and I were at the local K-Mart. I was potty trained at the time and warned my mom that I needed to go. Unfortunately for Mom, she turned her back [...]
Day 6: Sleep, what’s that? and the Conlon Cousins visit
0 Comments Published May 28th, 2006 in UncategorizedSo our second full night of Frank at home was a bit more challenging than the first. He slept alot during the day and we missed a feeding. As a result, he was a bit more rambuncious during the night, waking up seemingly every hour and a half and wanting to be fed. [...]
Our first real night with him wasn’t so terrible. He was up every two hours for a feeding, but isn’t really a screamer. He cries a bit, we wake up, Trish feeds, I change. It’s tiring, like having the flu, but without the sickness.
This morning we went to the doctor for our [...]
Frank came home today, and thus far, it’s pretty easy. He sleeps a ton and doesn’t cry that much. I know this won’t last, but it’s cool for now.
It’s freaky having him here, but wonderful. We miss the routine of the hospital, but it’s nice to be home.
I updated the website, adding some blog entries [...]
My mom left today. She got here late Tuesday night and has been an insanely big help. I mean, I expected she’d help, but she’s gone beyond the call of duty. We went to lunch yesterday and then bought Frank an outfit to come home in. Since we were waiting to [...]
Today Frank got circumcised. Originally I wasn’t going to do it. It’s medically unnecessary (they don’t do it in Europe, Canada, Mexico, etc.). I did it because everyone I asked about it gave me some line about “you don’t want him to be the only kid with, when all the other kids [...]
Franklin Thomas Izzo entered the world today at 6:13 am. He weighs 5 pounds 1 ounce and is 19 inces long. Today is also my birthday. this came as a huge surprise since the due date was june 9th. We never expected him anywhere near my birthday, so his early arrival was awesome (and scary: [...]
So I thought I’d explain the names. I’m not sure if Trish is sharing with everybody, but nobody’s really reading this.
Frank:
After my grandfather, my mom’s dad. Daniel was his middle name, and I really loved my grandfather. Middle name will be Thomas, after Trish’s Dad. Which is cool.
Hilde:
My family is swedish (my [...]
